Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Corporate Family Tree ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Corporate Family Tree provides a searchable database of corporate subsidiaries extracted from SEC 10-K Exhibit 21 filings. We aggregate, parse, and visualize publicly available data to make corporate structures more transparent and accessible.

Data Sources and Accuracy

All data is sourced from publicly available SEC EDGAR filings. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, but we do not guarantee that the data is complete, current, or error-free.

The Service is provided for informational purposes only. It is not intended to provide legal, tax, investment, or financial advice.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
  • Scrape, crawl, or download data in violation of our rate limits
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools to access the Service without permission
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding public SEC data) are owned by VenMode Labs and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The underlying software is open source and available under the MIT License. SEC data remains in the public domain.

API and Rate Limits

We provide a public API for accessing corporate data. Usage is subject to rate limits to ensure fair access for all users. Excessive or abusive use may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VENMODE LABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VenMode Labs and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

The Service contains links to SEC EDGAR and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of external sites.

Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
